About CalcGauge

A calculator should answer the question on the first screen, show its working, and get out of the way.

CalcGauge is a collection of everyday calculators and unit converters: percentages, dates, loans, body metrics, cooking volumes, distances, and the rest of the questions people type into a search bar with a number in them.

How results are computed

Every calculator runs on published, verifiable formulas. Unit conversions use exact legal definitions where they exist (an inch is exactly 25.4 millimeters, a pound is exactly 0.45359237 kilograms) rather than rounded pocket-reference values. Where a calculation involves judgment, such as activity multipliers in calorie estimates, the page says which published standard it uses.

What we show and what we skip

Each page gives the answer first, then the formula, then a short FAQ for the follow-up questions people usually have. There are no signups, no "unlock full result" screens, and nothing to install. The site is supported by ads, which keeps every calculator free.

Accuracy

Results are tested against reference values before a calculator ships. If you find a number that looks wrong, use the contact page and include the inputs you used. Wrong answers get fixed quickly because a calculator site that cannot be trusted is worthless.

A note on advice

Financial and health calculators here are educational estimates, not professional advice. A loan payment figure will not know about your lender's fees, and a calorie estimate will not know your medical history. Use them to get oriented, then talk to a professional for decisions that matter.
